Repeated break-ins & graffiti
A month ago or thereabouts someone was walking into my house every minute or so and spraying long, nonsense, diatribes all over my walls. It totally ruined my place. People said I should do something about it but then it stopped and I figured, “okay, no need to follow their advice”. Now it’s started to…
A month ago or thereabouts someone was walking into my house every minute or so and spraying long, nonsense, diatribes all over my walls. It totally ruined my place. People said I should do something about it but then it stopped and I figured, “okay, no need to follow their advice”. Now it’s started to happen all over again. Should I have listened to peoples’ ideas for preventing this? Should I do something about it now? By the way, I depend on my place for my livelihood and it was just written up in a prominent magazine.
requiring log ins would ruin this website.
i don’t know what the alternative is, but that isn’t it.
it would become a club for a few people and mr. b needs massive amounts of hits, which is only made possible by anonymous posting…
i don’t want to log in
this was tried already and failed
there are a number of solutions
making people log in is the wrong solution
2:15 you are wrong. The long posts hang up my computer making the site useless. Not annoying. Unusable.
how about putting a lock on your door or making them login when they arrive
Not really, 2:07. It’s just annoying, as is this person’s intent. If you stop reading and posting and brownstoner stops going ahead with business as usual, this person will view that as a great big victory in his or her tiny little life.
Of course, brownstoner could also opt to pay attention to the prevailing attitude around here these past few days that wading through this crap is tedious and, as the web is a vast and interesting place, there are likely other sites his regular users might turn to unless and until he implements appropriate measures to nip this crap in the bud. Thus fewer page views, thus less ad revenue, and perhaps less interest in his major pet project of the moment, the Brooklyn Flea.
So, you know, make of that what you will, Mr. B.
This site has been rendered virtually unusable
yeah, i catch your drift, ife.
but it’s brownstoner’s site, so it’s his decision/responsibility to fix the “bugs” and keep the a**holes at bay.
success means more envy and detractors, and more people with a chip on their shoulder for reasons that probably stem from deep insecurity and a lack of attention.
A call to action based on a certain disgruntled-by-all-the-attention-the-other- prominent-crackpot-around-these-parts-just-received-in-magazine-write-up crackpot’s posting habits of the past 72 or so hours, I believe. Keep up, people. Keep up.
This is so weird; I thought johnife was being oddly cranky and mean last week, and now this. We’re here for you, are you ok?!
