Hello folks –
We have an accepted offer on a place in Park Slope and need to move quickly on an engineering inspection. Can anybody recommend a good engineer. If anything, we are mostly concerned with the shape of the electrical system and, thus, would like to know about engineers with real expertise in that area. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  1. I wonder what type of inspections need to take place for these engineers to pass whatever it is their passing. Is it like a home inspector? Does someone hire an inspector to come and check out what an engineer has built, and then the inspector lets them know if its a go or not?

  2. We used these guys about a year ago –
    Aberdeen-

Matthew was incredibly thorough and you will get a 30 pg (approx) printed report with pictures explaining things to lookout for, some immediate , some for the future ..
I really liked him- his electrical expertise seemed average.. not sure – but you can ask him – he seemed really honest and as a bonus I believe hes a classical piano player hey!

    good luck

  3. Hi,
We just had a house inspected by Inspect America. The guy did an excellent job and took the time to really be thorough, as well as explain how what he was finding would affect us as potential homebuyers.
Inspect America also were able to quickly schedule us in as we were in a hurry to move forward on a house.
    Good luck!

  4. We used Coull Engineering and were very unhappy. Comparing notes with friends afterwards, it was the most inconclusive, unrevealing inspection anybody ever heard of, and not one week later after closing on the house and starting to work with a contractor, he and we started discovering really obvious problems visible to the naked eye that the inspector absolutely should have mentioned in his report.
