  1. I have nothing but superlatives for Verrazano. I recently hired them to refinish my parquet floors. I live in a large pre-war apartment in Brooklyn, and the floors needed repair as well as refinishing. The repairs are so meticulously done that I can not tell which boards were replaced. I wanted to take the floors from a natural oak to a rich, deep walnut with a waxed look. Verrazano worked with me to achieve the exact color and finish I desired using a water-based formula with low VOCs. . The crew was exceptional: punctual, courteous, experienced and fastidious. They hand-sanded the door saddles and the corners of the room, and the finish is applied evenly and smoothly. At every point of contact, I was impressed with Verazzano. From the who handles scheduling, to the sales rep, to the work crew itself, the service was exceptional. The president of the company even stopped by during the project to check on the work. We paid extra for a dust containment system, and it was well worth the extra cost. I would recommend Verrazano to anyone like me who is fastidious and exacting.

  2. I had Verrazano refinish a floor for me, and they did a great job. The floor looks beautiful and feels nice on bare feet. The floor is oak parquet pieces glued to the cement slab of a 60-yr old apartment building. They repaired and refinished it. It was in terrible condition with a lot of water damage. They were very accommodating, working with me to keep work dates which I changed three times (because the preliminary work took longer than anticipated) moving the work ahead by 2 months. Then, the day before the first work day, I discovered that 1/3 of the floor wasn’t recoverable (having been covered with tile up to that point) and had to be completely replaced, which Verrazano also did. Verrazano regrouped quickly, bought matching wood, scheduled an extra day and showed up the next day on time to start the job. They made the new and old parts of the floor match and had good recommendations for refinishing the un-replaced part to minimize wear marks and stains. All their people — workers and salespeople alike, on-site and on the phone — were courteous, professional, showed up on time, worked hard and fast (I never noticed breaks), did everything they said they would do.

  3. I have to disagree with this forum.

I had a great experience with Verrazano; my neighbor who used them in our building hired them and was satisfied with their work but I encountered another situation that impressed me..

I had a situation with Verrazano Flooring; they made a mistake that resulted to a leak; my storage unit was avoe the leak and eventually mold developed. Now, mistakes happen; however when I informed Verrazano what happened, they were very responsive, they sent a gentleman to inspect the closet a day later and the work started the very next day after the inspection at 9:00am right on the dot. I too, work for a construction company; I can honestly say the worker was very professional and the work performed exceeded my expectations (listen, I thought they would do the minimum to get by – but they didn’t, not at all). Mind you, I did not have anything to do with this company, but they came in, completed the work and I did not have to pay a dime. In my eyes, although yes, they made an error, it happens and how they responded and the work performed was what impressed me.

  4. We recently used Verrazano Flooring and had an excellent experience. The workers were extremely professional as were their office staff. They came when they said they would and were on time. Their price was very competitive and the floors look better than ever. We would definitely use them again. I recommend them highly.

  6. I recently (a month ago) used VF to refinish parquette floors in my apt. They said they could do the job, then after the floors were sanded, told me that the wood was too thin, and that the wood tiles would probably break apart in about 6 months. They agreed to finish the job without giving their standard warranty and ended up knocking off about $500. They also had to put down the polyeutherane multiple times because half the floor had a matte finish and the other half was glossy. They just left the floor like that and I discovered it on my own and had to call them back to redo the job. Overall, I did not have a positive experience with them.
