The buzzer is surface mounted (although has been painted over many a time, so is seriously stuck to the wall). Is replacing the buzzer with a nicer sounded chime something that I can do myself, or do I need to call in an electrician?
I know that they make wireless “add-a-bells,” but I still would have to disconnect the buzzer somehow anyway.
Many thanks!
When you remove the old bell, take a photo and enlarge it so you see details.
Very easy DIY job. Doorbell lines are low voltage and do not require an electrician to move or replace if that was the question.
You should be able to do this yourself. Take off the old bell and note how its attached and reattach a new bell the same way.
