Today WNBC-TV Channel 4 is repeating the episode of “Open House NYC†that features 7 Berry and the Oro. For those not familiar with the program this show, sponsored by developer K. Hovnanian and Buick, features (expensive) real estate around the city.
In this episode the house hunter is taken to both places by her agent giving us a chance to see the inside of both of these condos you might not see unless you had about 800,000 to spend. At first she liked the Oro better than the Developers Group condo but ultimately her Manhattanite snobbery took over and she rejected both. I was struck by how crappy the D group’s condo was for that price range. (check out that view!)

In the end she didn’t like the neighborhood of the Oro — and there is no neighborhood so she is right! Right now it is highway, MetroTech, constuction sites. Oro is a place to buy for investment — 15 years down the road — if you can get a deal.

The production quality of that show is appalling. Looks like it was shot only for webcast. You can see pixelation throughout the whole show when it airs on TV.
