hi all, i was hoping i could get a referral for someone to come in and sand the parquet floors in my new apartment in cobble hill.

they’re not in terrible shape but have some of those dark spots/scratches that don’t look so nice. any help, especially if you know of someone in the area, would be appreciated!

  1. prob cost you around $3 a square foot. i just had someone refinish my wood parquet floors. you should make sure the tiles haven’t been sanded down too many times. a lot of parquet tiles have a thin veneer of real wood at the top and the rest of the tile is actually plywood. therefore, if they have been sanded down once or twice you may not be able to sand them again, they will be too thin… good luck with yr new apt.

  2. Does anyone know what the average price per square foot is for this type of job? I’ve been quoted a few different amounts and want to be sure they’re reasonable.
Thanks again for all the suggestions.

  3. I used Carlos Wood Flooring for my Brownstone in Kensington-Bklyn, very reasonable rates, good workers (cleaned up nicely) and professional workers. His number is 646-281-2659. Tell him Allan recommended you.

  4. i can recommend my contractor. usc construction. 347-484-2968. tell him kaza recommended him to you.. currently working for me. and iam sure you wont be unsatisfied. thanks.

  5. I used RMK flooring and they’re fantastic! They’re very professional and most important, insured! I had them sand and refinish my floors and they came out fantastic!

  6. You have to call Stafford Elliot (I think his shop is called Elliot Flooring)917-414-3516. He redid the floors in our rental unit and also replaced several missing floorboards in the owner’s unit (he matched the missing floorboards to the existing ones almost perfectly). We also have him doing some additional flooring work for us right now. I can’t speak more positively of the guy. He is honest, professional and well-priced. Feel free to tell him that Kevin on Adelphi St. recommended him (I am not getting anything for the reference so feel free not to tell him). Good luck.
