Hello
Does anybody have any experience with Danfoss they’d like to share? I live in an overheated apartment building and heard that this company used to make valves that controlled the heat on individual radiators. That sounds like a wonderful solution for a situation with so many different heat needs, and for brownstone heat as well….
thanks for any info.

  1. We have Danfoss valves on our 2 pipe radiators. They seem to do SOME good as far as modulation…so I guess they’d save a little bit of money because you can avoid the scalding high settings. I think you’d have to install them on every radiator to make a real difference, which would be pretty expensive. I was quoted $800 to install a radiator (that we disconnected years ago) w/danfoss valves.

If I had more time to track down the parts and had a pipe cutter I’d just do it myself.

  2. They will limit how hot the rooms get by automatically shutting off the radiator’s air vent.
Very common and effective but not terrifically accurate or predictable when used with one pipe steam.
    Definitely a fuel saver.
