Art appraiser?
This painting was left to me. Im pretty sure its not of any value or importance but I wouldn’t mind getting some information on it. I find it quite beautiful in a dark demented way and I wonder if there is any other information about it out there. Does anyone know of a local company/person…

I can’t make out the artist’s name in the signature the internet has been no help.
People’s snotty comments aside, it looks to me like Ukrainian folk art (girl’s dress). It looks about 40-50 years old to me. The girl is afraid and there is a storm in the background, which makes me think it might have an anti-Soviet slant. These are just guesses, though. It is interesting and a little strange; hang it if you like it– the above comments are mostly art-school, snarky and sophomoric.
As if these people can judge value by taste. One thing has nothing to do with the other. These are the people who by a fish tank filled with water and three basket balls for $300,000, have their arms folded and ADMIRE it, while the artist laughs his ass off. Bring it to a medium sized auction house — maybe you’ll get lucky.

Why can’t you just give the poster the info she requested. A qualified appraiser will tell her if it’s crap or not. Who cares what the rest of you think.
