Rental question
I am beginning to start looking to purchase a house. I am mostly looking at two family homes in order to have some rental income to help with a mortgage… I looked at something recently that would require a good deal of work but is very large. My question is what kind of rental price…

My question is what kind of rental price do you think a 3 bedroom (one small two large bedrooms) in windsor terrace approximately 1300 sq feet would go for. I plan to do some renovations…new bathroom and kitchen (not super high end but all new appliances etc) painting and refinishing wood floors. Thanks
we’re about to take a lease 1.5 blocks down from the 15th st/prospect park corner, on 18th st. The unit sounds the same as yours in size, at $2800 per month. I thought that was a decent deal.
I wouldn’t pay that to live near ocean parkway, however. The attraction of WT is at the top of the hill, not the bottom.
best site ever http://www.rentometer.com/ to know if you are under or over charging : ).
I live in WT, and I think that it could go for $2200 to $2400.
OP here: To give you all a little more info, the house is a block from the Fort Hamilton F train and 2 blocks from the park (on the park side of the prospect expressway not the cemetery side).
Thanks for all the response!
Just wanted to add that I didn’t see a 2 bedroom in good shape for less than $2800 on the prime blocks..so I imagine a large 3 bedroom would go for more.
Check similar properties on craigslist.
Wild guess: $2500/month?
It really depends where in WT the rental is. It may seem like only a block or two but there is a big difference in a rental demand at the south ends of WT vs. the north ends.
