No Heat - bad thermostat?
I have not had heat in almost 24 hours. My thermostat (an old Honeywell Chronotherm) doesn’t seem to want to kick on the boiler. I have this house for two years and the boiler for one and have never had any problems until now. Can this possible be an issue with how the thermostat is…
I have not had heat in almost 24 hours. My thermostat (an old Honeywell Chronotherm) doesn’t seem to want to kick on the boiler. I have this house for two years and the boiler for one and have never had any problems until now. Can this possible be an issue with how the thermostat is set (it has fresh batteries although I don’t think that is a factor anyway) or is it time for a new thermostat? I can’t believe this is a problem with the boiler.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
If you have a fuse on your transformer than you better get a new transformer–cuz the thing should be in the Smithsonian.
Change the fuse on the transformer that gives power to the thermostat.
If you think it’s the thermostat, remove it and temporerilly connect the 2 wires to see if the boiler kiks on.
I had the same problem last year and I think it was a simple matter of shutting off the boiler and turning it back on. We had a plumber come over, but I don’t think there was an actual problem.
