I have found what I think all Brownstoners would consider a Brooklyn Jewel.
Investigating a name under a table that I stumbled onto years ago, I finally found time to find the place–and what a find it was–absolutely amazing.
After owning my brownstone for six years, imagine – hand wood carving/duplication of anything, restoration, antique replicas, as well as custom made furniture detailed for your personal taste or desires. Anything you may have missing in “this old house” – they can do. Pieces of furniture made by them was also in Oprah’s Magazine.
These gentlemen/owners are not youngsters by far, nevertheless are holding onto a tradition that will soon be past and forgotten. I probably would have fell to the floor if I didn’t hold on. These/our Brooklyn Treasures should be held sacred to us and honored by all of us. Go See for yourself. Wanted to get this out for those getting their santuary in order for the holidays.

Oh, why am I giving up my top secret source? Okay, Ebay. Do the search that constrains you to within 100 miles or whatever. I bought two pairs through Ebay. Good luck.
These are quarter & riff sawn oak doors & are beautiful. Cost Easily $3500 per door if the scroll work & detailed Astrigal is also required make it $5k per. If u live in a landmarks district then I assume u need to match all the details. Very few people make these locally. Try Heights Historic Window & Door I saw them install a unit on Tompkins place as detailed as this in Mahogany no scroll work though

Thanks guys!!! We are trying Eddie but wanted some more alternatives… Thanks again!
The guys at Grand & Greene are great.
Moon River Chattel in Williamsburg has doors too. You’ll need to do a lot of legwork to find the right design and size.
Mahogany is fine for a new door – it is the wood of choice for high quality replacement windows and doors. Its a shame, but its usually painted.

I got a quote from Omar and it was too high for me.
I’d do 1. Eddie, 2. Vaccaro’s on 15th bet. 2&3rd, 3. Zaborski’s, Kingston, 4. Albany places <http://reclaimedhome.com/?p=224>
Obviously, call around before going to Kingston and Albany.
