I just bought a condo at 936 Fulton. I’ve seen the building mentioned on here a few times and I’m curious to hear what you think, whether I did right to buy now and what will happen to it value-wise in the next few years.

It’s a one bedroom for around $683 per square foot in a converted limestone building with 11 units and 2 commercial units on the ground floor. It’s 1.5 blocks from the C and will be relatively close to Atlantic Yards someday.

  1. If you need to rehab the building, or other construction work, try this guy:

    Franky
    Wing Kin Construction
    917-337-5103

He’s the most honest and nicest contractor I’ve ever met. His crew is very hard working too.

  2. One always has a right to complain and push for neighborhood improvements despite the above poster. I bet the person above is a member of NAMBLA.

The methadone clinic went in there becasue it was in the middle of the shit. The drug dealers are incentivized to stay around there because the clinic supports a lot of habits along with the drug dealers. Get rid of the clinic and the drug dealers will follow.

  3. “The problem still the methadone clinic on Fulton, How do we get them out of here ?”

Who came first, you or the clinic? If you came first, why didn’t you complain before the clinic open? If the clinic came first, you have no right to complain since you knew what you were moving next to.

  4. The problem still the methadone clinic on Fulton, How do we get them out of here ? is it actually legal to have such of a “service” a block away from a public school ?

  5. I live nearby. Yes, that stretch of Fulton is sketchy, but you restored/renovated building on Fulton Between St. James and Grand, along witht the new condoes going in on both Washington Avenue and Clinton Avenue between Fulton and Atlantic, are evidence of the momentum that is finally building for Fulton Street in Clinton Hill to change. You have nice blocks north and south of you , it’s just your stretch of Fulton that is still sketchy. I think it is a good long term investment if you re thinking about your ROI. Brownstones are selling for 1.5 and up one block away. It will take some time for Fulton Street to change, but I agreed with what Putnam Denizen said about the momentum of change now taking place. With the zoning changes, Fulton Street in Clinton Hill may end up looking quite different five years from now.

  6. Your picture is of the building next door. The website of the developer is a bit misleading about location. As someone who lives nearby, I am glad to have the building rehabbed and occupied. As my new boyfriend points out, however, we (and now you) really live on the worst stretch of Fulton. Drug dealers operate out of the building to the right on the corner of St James, and indeed at night that stretch of Fulton is quite sketchy. Would I have paid between 400k-550 for a one bedroom right there? No. On the otherhand in purchasing my house 6 years ago foa bout 2/3 that price 6 years ago, I made the same decision – this is an area surrounded by better areas, within walkable distance of everything I like. I’ve habe been a little disappointed by how little improvement there has been since then. But your project, the one actually close to Clinton (I find the name of your building very funny since it is blocks from Clinton!), etc. may be the moemntum needed to shift the , er, tenor of the night activity.
