I’ve lived in my current apt for almost 10 years and looking to move between now and Oct 1, 2007. I’m a non-smoker, no children, no pets and an ideal tenant. Please contact me at l.aptsearch@yahoo.com if you have a new or renovated 1 or 11/2 bedrooms in Cobble Hills, Boerum Hills, Carroll Gardens, Fort Green or Prospect Heights. Ideally, I would prefer an apt with a washer/dryer hookup and would be willing to pay for the installation at my expense with a contractor that is approved by you. Thank you in advance.

  1. Well, maybe the original poster is from Akron, but 1:10 is correct in that this is not the way to find an apartment. You should narrow down the basic areas in which you might want to live, check the NY Times real estate listings and Craig’s List and if you want to see the best apartments, be prepared to pay a fee to a broker.

  2. Ya know, I don’t mean to insult the OP, but it always seems such a total time-suck every time someone posts here expecting landlords to bring an apartment to THEM. I mean, are you kidding me? Are you from Akron? (OK, now I guess I *do* mean to insult…) You will never, ever, ever find anything in NYC other than a total hellhole this way. Finding decent real estate in this town requires lots of legwork, and during that legwork, you will observe that 90% of the inventory is crap. And 90% of that 90% is staggeringly bad, filthy, crack-ridden crap, with ugly vinyl siding, to boot. You think the people with nice apartments are going to bother chasing you in a market with less than a half-percent vacancy rate? Pass that doobie this way, please…
