I need to pull up a hideous carpet that has probably been in place for the past 20 years. The Carpet is located in the entry way and runs up the stairway to the second floor of my two story townhouse. I would like to hire a company to pull up the carpet, clean up (what could be asbestos or some other toxic material), and put down a new carpet. Any suggestions for good, trustworthy companies to do this job?

  1. This will usually be done by any carpet installer. Go find the carpet you want to buy and they will have the installers to do everything you need. I think HD was running a special for $99 installation for any amount of carpet in your house when you buty the carpet and pad.

  2. why would there be asbestos under your carpet?

i would get some gloves and pull it up myself. then go to Lowe’s and pick out carpet for them to install.
