I will be personally delivering flooring in the NJ/NYC city area over the next few days. I sell Canadian-grown red pine wide-plank flooring for only $2-2.69/ sqft. Larger companies in New England sell the same thing for over $6/sq ft. I curently have approx. 1200 sq ft of 12″ and 1500 sq ft of 6″ knotty, and 4500 sq ft of selecl (6″, 8″, 10″) warehoused in southern NJ. I’d like to clear it out in the next few days. I will personally bring it right to you.
The FSC standard for this region is currently being established: http://www.fsccanada.org/SiteCM/U/D/0C953E6686DF2BB8.pdf
I do know that this forest has had strict oversight for decades and is in better shape now than it was 50 years ago. This is a select-cut, managed, glow-growth forest, with mixed species (not a plantation). Not only is this best for the environment, it produces tall, straight trees and durable and stable flooring.
