Pros and Cons of Steel vs Wood stud framing
From your experience which would you go with if you could do it again? Thinking cost, insulation, workmanship etc.

metal studs are much easier to work with, however they do not provide better fire resistance. wood retains a lot of tensile strength if burned; metal melts.
The wood is a sturdier job but takes a lot longer. Remember you will have to bore holes through the side of the 2×4’s for your electrical wires. The metal studs already have openings for the cables to be pulled through.
I have another word for you: termites.
metal studs, heaven forbid it ever happen, have an obviously higher fire rating than wood…a good thing to keep in mind when weighing options.
