Covering Parquet
my wife and i recently purchased a 950 sq.ft apartment that has parquet floors. however, they are in bad shape and we aren’t really fond of the style. we are thinking of laying new hardwoods down. Does anyone know if we need to also lay a subfloor or if we can use the existing parquet…

Does anyone know if we need to also lay a subfloor or if we can use the existing parquet floor as a subfloor. there is only slab beneth the concrete. thanks

I believe there is only concrete under the parquet.
You should be able to lift the parquet and use the existing subfloor.
