If the finish is fully in tact and if the markers aren’t permanent, you might want to try simple soap and water first.
Failing that, try this:
Denatured alcohol will dissolve some finishes and acetone will dissolve others. Test each solvent on an inconspicuous area of the door first and see which removes the finish. Then try the *other* one on the stains.
Skinner Box
😉
Have you considered adoption?
(sorry, couldn’t resist. I have walls, doors, furniture, floors covered in crayon and marker!)
You can try rubbing alchohol or acetone with a cotton swab, just don’t saturate the wood.
Nail pollish remover is usually mostly acetone if you don’t have any lying around.
It will also remove any finish on the door.
