Renovation Sale: Carved Mantel and Fireplace from Harlem Brownstone

I’m selling an original, carved mantel from a 1908 Harlem brownstone near Mount Morris Park.

The dimensions are 60″wide x 82″tall x 7″deep. The opening is 41.5″wide x 37″high.

The piece is in excellent condition! It has a light coat of paint that could easily be stripped to reveal a lovely walnut-like color. (While I don’t know the type of wood, you can see the natural color in a small spot to the right of the mirror.)

The mirror and metalwork are original. The tiles shown in the photo are not original and are no longer attached to the piece.

Because I’m renovating, the piece has been removed from the wall — in one piece! Purchaser must pick-up item, or for a fee, I can arrange for delivery.

I’m asking $1400, or best offer. This price is a bargain if you consider these comparable mantels.
