Noticed with horror yesterday that my brand new Silestone countertop has a chink out of the edge of it. It’s a divet about the size of a small fingernail but noticeable since it’s along the top edge. I must have been done while resting (not dropping nor banging) a heavy pot on that edge to scrape dinner into the trash. Determinedly, I put on rubber gloves and picked through each and every tablespoon of 4 days of wet, smelly garbage by hand to try to find the divet with the hope of gluing it back in. (Don’t try this if your last few meals consisted of tofu, cauliflower, discarded chicken fat, or any other small particulate food stuffs of the same color as your C-top.) 2 hours later I realized I will never get a job as a CSI, and my idea to find the divet was a dumb one. Does anyone have a better idea of repairing the chink? My C-top edge profile is square with an eased edge, so sanding it down is not an option.

  1. To fix the divit you will have to call the company that installed it. They will fill the nick with a color and buff it out. I have a small nick in my top too but it’s hard to notice.
