Hello. Has anyone ever had any interaction with Cabinets Express in the Bronx? (511 East 164th Street). We are gutting our kitchen and have been really confused by all the different perspectives and directions. When is ‘custom’ custom really custom and the Home Depot vs. Everything else, and what is quality and on and on. Someone suggested we visit this place, and we did. They seem priced well below everyone else and the also produce cabinets for various lines. They are not overly commerical-quite the contrary. Anyone hear anything about them? Even their custom cabinets are priced more than 50% below the typical custom kitchen prices. Thanks very much.
fyi, when you buy kraft-maid cabinets at HD, all they do is order them. Kraft-maid delivers the cabinets, so I don’t see why you shouldn’t go to HD if it’s more convenient.
Do a search on this site for kitchens and you will get a lot of information. Both Home Depot and Lowes have a full line of semi-custom lines – Kraftmaid is the most popular out of these. There are other lines which are higher end custom – like Plain and Fancy (dealers throughout NYC – more expensive). Stay away from Home Depot. This is serious. They are awful; this has been documented widely on this site. Lowes is much better if you want to buy Kraftmaid, Diamond, Shenandoah, etc.
If you decide to go to Cabinets Express, would you mind posting on your experience? Thanks.
