Once we get landmarks approval and a permit, my husband and I will need a new brownstone door to go at the top of a new stoop. The original double door was arched at the top with three panes of glass in each side. I’ll be contacting South Slope Woodworks and Heights Historic for quotes (found both on this site.) Does anyone have any feedback on these companies, or any advice on for a new door? Do the extra tall, curved-top doors warp?

  3. Brownstone Stoops

Anyone ever use A. Malek to repair their Brownstone stoop? I’d like to hear from someone who has had the work done at least 5 years. How does it look now? Is it still holding up.?

    Also, is he very costly?

Any information you give is appreciated.
    Thank you.

  4. go with Nate from South Slope Woodworks. You might have to call him more than once, but I have had to do that with almost all the people who do work on our house (plasterer, painter, etc.). It’s worth it.
