We’re going into contract on an old Victorian in Ditmas Park, and will be buffing and refinishing the wood floors. I read on a previous post about using polymerized tung oils. Can they be used on floors that aren’t resanded?

  1. If you’re talking about a product like Waterlox, which I highly recommend, you don’t need to sand first–which is great if you have floors that are getting thin. You could do a very light screening and not a sanding.

The floors do have to be immaculately clean–any dirt and imperfections will be sealed in.
