1940s Bathroom Tiles
I live in an early 1940s vintage aparment building on Plaza Street and we have what I believe are original ceramic tiles in our bathroom (small black and white squares and rectangles design). Do any of you know where to get replacement tile for this era? Much appreciated!

If you ever go to L.A. try out there, because most houses and apartments have kept the original tile from the 20’s through 40’s; it’s very desireable there. There are tile companies that replicate the originals in order to fill in and replace pieces in these properties. It’s been a long time so I don’t remember the names of the tile places though. Also there is a new tile place on 9th street between 5th and 6th avenues on the southside of the street, they have way better tiles than Bergen tile and better service too. I had a bad experience with Bergen tile; they always seem completely uninterested in selling anything or helping customers.
try nemo tile (www.newmotile.com)
Try Bergen on Flatbush.
