Park Slope Craftsman
They are out of business and are holding an auction at their store at 354 Seventh Ave. Wednesday 1/24 at 1 pm. Because they haven’t been calling anyone I think they are planning to keep our deposit, which is heartbreaking to us. The husband has apparently gone on to work elsewhere.

FYI, the original owner of Park Slope Craftsman (husband of the woman who often answered the phone, father of the woman who oversaw, and often did, most of the work) died some time ago. This was closely followed by hospitalization of his widow and continuing medical problems, loss of a couple of the more significant workers, and ongoing respiratory health problems of the adult daughter. They did good work and it’s a shame, but I’m not surprised they closed. BTW, finishing of a job they did for us never got done, multiple occasions of being stood up, but at least we didn’t have money in their hands. Sorry about your situation. Second the motion that you should pursue legal action.
I went to the auction today. They are out of business as they have sold off all the equipment. It seemed that the husband may have passed away.
Keeping your deposit? I don’t know the circumstances, but their problems shouldn’t be your problem. Three options:
1) Legal action.
2) Go to the auction and make a public stink about it.
3) Go to the auction and demand payment in items equal to your deposit.
The stuff in the store.
An auction for what? for the store? for the stuff in the store?
