Should I be looking for a job at Simon & Schuster? They mention their dog, Diggity. Maybe he has a job.
Yeh, this article had me scratching my head too. I work in publishing. Believe me, most publicity assistants are happy to be earning $35k.
I dont know what these people make but I find that most of my friends (in their 20s) make close 75K or more a year even in the industries that are traditionally not as lucrative. So $3800/mo is entirely possible if they are both working and putting the bulk of their income toward housing.

also never under estimate the urban survival skills of women
I wonder if they have a trust fund. It’s amazing that people who might have inherited some kind of private income don’t necessarily associate that with getting money from their parents, especially if it came via another relative.
