We are browsing for kitchen ideas and went to Cabinet Fair yesterday next to the Brooklyn Costco. Although they seemed to have nice stuff, the service seemed quite poor. We hung around for 20 minutes before anyone asked us what we wanted, although at least one of their staff looked free. Since, nobody seemed interested in us, we wandered around and I tried to take a pic of one of the cabinet styles with my cellphone to add to my kitchen scrapbook, when one of the the designers (?)/ salespeople was extremely rude (‘Browse first, don’t take pictures!) and when I tried to confirm what he was saying because I wasn’t sure, he was almost confrontational. How have other people’s experiences been with them?

  1. I used Cabinet Fair when they were located on McDonald Ave, it was about 1996…Very satisfied. I am very happy with my kitchen, however that was years ago, and now I want another look so I will be going back again.
Hey, who said you could only have 1 kitchen remodel per lifetime….LOL

  2. We just tried to go to AJV and Cabinet Fair and both were no longer at this location. Both their phone numbers were disconnected. Some discount clothing place is now were AJV was.

We’re still looking for a cabinet place that is somewhere between Ikea and Lowes

  3. I used to work for this company as I.T. person. Their products are very well manufactured. They do use advanced machinery. Their factory is right around the coner – AJV Prime Source Corp. 67 34th Street. Brooklyn, NY 11232. Ph. (718) 369-1144. It may be cheaper to order directly from the factory.

  4. We didn’t find their prices competitive with regard to their quality–the quality didn’t seem any better than semi-custom from Lowes, and prices were much higher.

  5. based on your recent experience firsthand, isn’t that enough to warn you that you should take your business elsewhere?

hey – if the service is lame now, what makes you think it will be better once you’ve given them your money and you are waiting for the arrival/installation of the cabinets?

  6. 5 years ago my daughter brought cabinets from this place as part of her kitchen renovation and she was more than satisfied. She recently sold her coop and all prospective buyers were very impressed with the quality and appearance of the cabinets
Can not comment on current sales staff, but at that time they were very helpful. Also, staff was very willing to work with contractor regarding planning selection, delivery, etc. A good experience all around.
