Sunset Park?
What is area around 60th Street and 8th Ave in the heart of Brooklyn Chinatown? Is that still considered Sunset Park or is that Dyker Heights? Trying to find a house or apartment around the upper 50s between 7th and 10th Avenues.

I knew people who had a house in Sunset Park. They didn’t love it, and they moved on after not too long. I think Bay Ridge is better if you are looking to save some money on rent. Bay Ridge has the best restaurants and stores of any of the further-out Brooklyn neighborhoods.
I can see that you are used to having to repeat yourself, Sunset Parker.
Depending on who you ask, either 8th Ave or 9th Ave make up Sunset Park’s Eastern boundary. On the other side (of either 8th or 9th, depending on which boundary you recognize) is Borough Park. Dyker Heights is south and west. Sunset Park becomes Bay Ridge around 65th street.
The area you are referring to is pleasantly residential and safe, but both the Chinese community along 8th and the Hassidic/Orthodox community in Borough Park are notoriously insular and not the most welcoming to strangers and newcomers; memners of both groups are expert in the deployment of all manner of passive-aggresive minor hostilities, the most common of which is ignoring you in a way that is very active. Even when you talk to them or ask a question.
I live at 47th st & 6th ave, Sunset Park. Chinatown is all of 8th Ave. 60th & 8th is the heart of Chinatown and is still Sunset Park.
