Does anyone have experience with wood floor wax polishers? I looked on the web and saw Koblenz brand. Is this good? Any better alternatives? For a whole brownstone should we get a commercial unit or a smaller unit?

Also, any recommendations on a particular wax to use (on top of tung oil)?

Thanks…

  1. I used to use an electric waxer (the brand is irrelevant–I bought it over 30 years ago) with a liquid wax/cleaner called Wood Preen–that worked quite well–the one time I used paste (Butcher’s) wax the results were no better and it was more work.

However, I’ve since discovered a product called Rejuvenate which I like a lot. I just wash my floors with Murphy’s Oil Soap and, after they dry, spread this stuff on with an applicator. It needs no buffing and looks beautiful. I last did it just before my house was on the PLG house tour in early June and the floors still look good–I don’t think you need to use it more than once a year, if that often. The only downside is that I’ve only been able to find Rejuvenate at Home Depot–a store I really dislike.
