I hate my closets and am looking to possibly have them torn down and rebuilt. I’d like an interior designer or architect who can provide design ideas and advise on structural issues(ie: are any closet walls also load-bearing). Can anyone recommend one or the other for what would probably be a relatively small job?

  1. We would love to help you with your closets. And as for the Fire Escapes, you need an architect or zoning/building code consultant to help you. You may not even be able to remove them. You may require two separate means of egress in your building. We can help you with that as well.

  2. Fire Escape Removal
I live in a Condo in Clinton Hill which is thinking of removing the fire escapes as there has been a rash of burglaries via the escapes. The building was fitted with sprinklers through-out during the gut renovation. Original developers probably thought it would save money to leave them up. In addition the building will look much nicer. Has anyone had experience removing fire escapes before? Can the iron be sold? What is the best company for this work. Thanks
