I have two floors I’d like to sand. These are the original wide plank floors. I will be either staining them or painting them. This is for a house in Greenpoint. I’d like referrals/recomendations for a top quality person/company.

Specs: 4 rooms per floor – all floors have been stripped of linoleums, nails, sills, etc. Only the two apartments, not the hallways.

Thanks.

  1. We hired Verizano off of advice from this site, and they subcontracted to another company in Long Branch. They did an excellent job and we would have saved $ had we gone to them directly.

    Company:
    Pacific Hardwood Floors
    Address:
    292 Chelsea Ave
    Long Branch, NJ 07740

  2. Thanks everyone!

Btw: I had to remove an average of 6 layers of linoleum from the late 1920’s. Not kidding. Some of the oldest kind has left some spots of what looks like a black, oily looking stain. Has anyone ever cleaned/removed this? What product might work best? Maybe sanding would remove most of it?

    Just curious…

    Thanks again.

  3. I have a great guy called eduard who did our floors for a super low price — all antique parquet, all came up great
