Anyone have any experience or hear anything about this company/flooring guy? It is recommended on Park Slope Parents website, and they quoted reasonable prices, so am looking for any information, good or bad. Thanks.

  1. Do not use them.

Although I agree they seem like fine people, they’re terrible at refinishing floors.

We had (and STILL have to) have them come back to fix mistakes.

    Mistakes include:

    • Hair/debris in the poly.
    • Foot prints embedded on floor (their fix for that was to just coat the foot print with more poly!)
    • Poly on the baseboards.
    • Poor/quick work around the radiators.

The owner never came by to inspect the work.

For details and corners they used sand paper which I SUGGESTED and SUPPLIED. If I hadn’t, they wouldn’t have sanded the corners or under radiators at all.

They did such a poor job, our floors actually look worse than before.

    I’ve lost sleep over this.

  2. Yes, I used Buono for my clients and for my master bedroom floor. The installers are great. The finishers you have to watch out for. They had to come back to refinish twice, I was not happy with the stain. But they did not have a problem with correcting the work. Give the downpayment and hold last payment until you are happy with the work. They are good people.
