need inspection and attorney
i had a bid accepted on a brownstone this week and need to have it inspected and have a contract drawn up. Called some reccommended inspectors and the lowest price was $750. can anyone suggest a good inspector that may be more reasonable. Also look ing for a good attorney.

We have done business with Elaine Gay and Carl Trunk and I recommend both of them.
Ann Northern, esq. is an excellent real estate lawyer. she a great negotiater and she is a strong closer, she the woman!
she did a wonderful job closing me for a manhatten brownstone

I used Heimer for a 3 family and HIGHLY recommend them.
Cost = $720 and worth it. My report was VERY thorough – 93 pages. They provided cost estimates for all the repairs.
Will use them again.
We used Richard Perri as well and he came very highly recommended by a knowledgeable person who told us that if she was buying something in Brooklyn she wouldn’t trust anyone else.
We were impressed, although this is the first and only Brownstone we have purchased. So far we haven’t uncovered anything that he didn’t tell us first (and we are on month month 16 of owning/living in the house.
I have the highest recommendations for Richard Perri of Professional Home Inspections. He’s the second generation running the company and he and his dad have an amazing knowledge of brownstone Brooklyn. 718.828.9116
Another alternative, also highly recommended, is Robert Albani. Both inspections will be very thorough and honest. 718.819.0174
I do think that both of these inspectors, as well as anyone else qualified you’d call, is in the $750 range. They all charge based on square footage.
Regarding an attorney, a very popular choice in the area, and someone I use whenever I need to, is Donald Fraser, of Fraser & Fraser. I just realized it while writing this, but Donald too is 2nd generation in brownstone Brooklyn and he and his dad are absolute pleasures to deal with and incredibly knowledgable and affordable. 718.625.7766.
Best of luck,
Noreen
For an attorney, I strongly recommend Stuart Hecker (718-840-2833; stuhecker@nyc.rr.com). His office is in Park Slope, he’s very thorough, and he’s quite cheap.
Carl Trunk in Prospect Heights is good. I used him and so have a few of my friends, all of whom thanked me for the recommendation.
Elaine Gay in Park Slope is a good attorney.
Adam Silverstein, Esq. 212-233-4995. He lives in Brooklyn, but his office is downtown Manhattan.
