high end kitchen cabinets
has anyone replaced their kitchen cabinets with high-end european cabinets like poggenpohl, boffi, bulthaup or siematic? i’m talking a galley kitchen or a chef’s kitchen. i’d like to know all estimates. NO appliances are being upgraded. just cabinets.

I bought bulthaup. Medium sized kitchen in graphite laminate. (2 cabinets @ 60cm x 7’1″, 1 @ 70cm x 7’1″, 3 @ 70cm wide counter height, 1 @ 60cm wide counterheight, and 2 60cm wide medium height cabinets)
Total cabinet cost was $22k. Installation quote not including electrical and plumbing $3k
High appliances all bought on ebay and on close out: $10k; plumbing and electric $3k
So it’s possible to go high end for around $40k but it’s sure not easy. Prices have risen too b/c of the weak dollar!
I disagree re appliances vs cabinets. For resale, I’d rather have the high quality cabinets. Appliances are easily replaced. If I was looking and the place had great cabinets and countertops, but I preferred different more high end stove/fridge, that would be easier and cheaper to replace. Slide the old out and the new in, no construction or contractors other than a plumber for the gas and/or water.
52K: yowza!!!!
time to start saving…
we have poggen pohl white cabinets and high end appliances. the cabinets alone were 52K.
i have a mix of appliances. it’s a personal choice to go with the cabinets. sorry you don’t agree w/ me.
just wondering on price. appreciate your feedback.
are your appliances high end? if not, why would you have super expensive cabinets with frigdaire appliances? seems to me that the best money spent is on the appliances and then get cheaper cabinets.
ouch, 60k just for cabinets..
i need to get myself to a showroom to see what the costs are…
i wonder if valcucine is cheaper or varenna..
poggenpohl five years ago was hideously expensive for a project i did–60k not including installation. i went with plain n fancy (terrible name!) for 24k. it was a big kitchen in suburbs
