Doors - Beveled Glass
I just purchased a brownstone in a historic distric. The house is has double doors but is missing the beveled glass. I need to replace. Is this type of glass easy to get? Expensive? Where? Do I need to clear anything with Landmarks?

After calling Bernie’s Glass for repair on my window, he answered quickly and came within the same day. It was done cleanly and professionally. The service call was reasonable and less than most others. I recommend this company to anyone!
I had the worst experience with Bernie’s Glass. I have rarely been treated as poorly as I was by the son’s owner, Jerome with respect to customer service. I would stay away from Bernie’s Glass.
I’ve had a LOT of work done by Chrystalvetro on 3rd Avenue and 12th Street. Excellent work, and the MOST reasonable. They treat you like a person.

We found this guy through the FG/CH Garden tour – one of the houses (Paul’s) had used him to match some etched glass they had and his work was amazing! Identical. We had him over to look into replicating an etched/carved glass piece we have in one of our pocket doors (one missing) and can’t wait to have enough money to use him.
To make an exact replica of a LARGE and intricate designed etched and carved glass piece was around $1500 if I remember correctly.

Don’t know the size you need, but a neighbor of mine had one large beveled door pane replaced at a cost of about $350. It was done in place without removing the door.
I don’t think it’s necessary to go to Landmarks. You’re merely replacing a piece of glass and not changing anything. I wouldn’t bother with Landmarks.
Any glass place can get them made. Yes they are expensive, i would not go to landmarks
