Carpeting Sources
Has anyone bought carpet recently? Are there any good places to look in Brooklyn? I’d like to hire someone to replace the bright red carpeting that covers the concrete floor of my extension with something less obtrusive—sisal, maybe. Thank you for any and all suggestions!

Are these sources good for commercial-grade carpeting as well? I live in a four-unit condo, and we want to replace the carpeting in our common hallways and stairs.
I was told not to use sisal for our room the opens onto the garden (ie a place that might get wet & dirty).
We used ABC and were pretty happy.
the best place and prices for carpet is quality carpet on ditmas avenue. ask for mendy. tell him adam the eyedoctor says hi. they did the pergo floor in my store.
I had a good experience with:
Boro Rug – 1141 37 St — 718-853-3600
They had good prices on their in-stock stuff.
You can also check out Lowe’s, they have a big selection.
We’ve used Better Carpet Warehouse on Atlantic and Nevins. The last installation they did for us was on the stairs where they didn’t go around the spindles as nicely as ABC had. If it’s a straightforward job with basic carpet like sisal, I’d recommend them. For higher end, there’s always ABC in Dumbo, but they are more expensive.
