Perfect Renovations
Has anyone here used “Perfect Renovations”? They are a full service general contractor we are considering to do some extensive work on our new bklyn townhouse, but being new to this game, we would love some feed back on them, or any other g.c. that people have used for extensive work…. Thanks so much.

Thanks so much.
I’ve used PR for bathroom and kitchen renovations. I like them because they are aware that having work done is always tough on the homeowner and even tougher when you live in a small urban space. They work efficiently. They keep their tools organized and out of our way as best they can when they aren’t working and vacuum up every night. Also they were gentle on the common areas of our building and kept water/stove/electricity working to whatever extent they could throughout the projects.
Also I agree that their people are skilled and usually provide good advice along the way. And if they make a mistake or you don’t like the way something turned out they fix it without a lot of fuss.
For those interested in more client perspective on Perfect Renovation, our 1845 three-family brownstone coop in Brooklyn Heights has recently finished a very-extensive building rehab project with PR as our contractor.
Major work included a very-painstaking, street façade restoration to Landmark’s standards; garden-facing building wall restored and re-pointed; “public†staircase entirely rebuilt top-to-bottom; all windows in the building replaced; all exterior doors replaced or rebuilt and half the building re-roofed. This work took a year to complete.
We were very satisfied with the quality of PR’s work.
PR uses a lead-carpenter system with sub-contractors. Over the year we worked with PR, we had two different lead carpenters, both of them skilled in their trades AND interpersonal relationships.
On our job, one of PR’s subs didn’t meet PR’s standards for fits and finishes. Subsequently, in following up, PR own staffers made good on all quality requirements. It’s my understanding that PR no longer uses the particular sub in question.
I believe PR very much deserves the success it is enjoying. On our project, the only downside I can point to with PR was the stretching out of our hoped-for completion schedule. This stems—I suspect—from PR’s expanding popularity. They are more and more in demand—for the good reason of work well-done…how rare! I believe the delays we experienced with PR may be attributed to occasional staff “multi-processing.†On the other hand, delays in brownstone renovation may simple be an inescapable part of a complex process using multiple resources…plan accordingly!
Nadav Mazor, PR’s entrepreneur/proprietor, is a good businessman with whom any reasonable client should be able to work. His own style and standards informs the work done by his crews. I recommend Perfect Renovation to you.
Any thoughts on Perfect Renovation? We, too, are interested in any feedback about them for a renovation of our cobble hill house

I like the owner of Perfect Renovations. He seems to be a pretty stand up guy. I have seen his work and have not heard a bad thing about him and his work! I like going with the new guys…if you can see their work and meet with them first!
Try some of the Yahoo groups, Boerum Hill especially.
