The New Hotness in Bushwick: 999 Willoughby
From the NY Post this weekend, news of a new development coming down the pipe in much-buzzed-about Bushwick. Call just 999 (‘cuz it’s at 999 Willoughby, yo), the the studios, one- and two-bedrooms in the 18-unit development will drop in November, says Corcoran veep Tom Le. And the prices? From $289,000 for a 690-square-foot one-bedroom…

From $289,000 for a 690-square-foot one-bedroom to $500,000 for a 1,000-square-foot two-bedroom with a 500-square-foot terrace. We bet that 2 BR will fly off the shelf in a snap. No schematics yet, but we’d dig seeing a photo of the site. Anyone? Bueller? Meanwhile, over at the Court Street lofts, only 20 percent of the units have sold and there are still plenty of renters left in the building. Things worked out a little better at The McCarren: The 24-unit condo at 46-93 Engert Avenue sold out between June and November of last year.

Welcome to 505 [Court Street Lofts]
Yep saw that Church. Thought I was on the Cape 🙂
There was some scaffolding on it so it might be getting some cosmetic work done..
The most stunning thing on that stretch of Bushwick Ave is that old congregationalist church, which looks like an early 19th century New England town square church. All wood, crumbling but amazing. Now a hispanic church, I believe. Beautiful steeple.
During the tour we came across this gentleman having an open house on Bushwick Ave….nice renovated two story house…575K.
I live on Bushwick Ave. on the Wburg side of Flushing and was pleasantly surprised to see the housing stock further up the Avenue….really tremendous and a very nice vibe to the hood in general.
I live a mere block or so away from this ‘999’. Perhaps we can snap a picture soon. Whole lotta action going on around my neck of the woods. New construx on Evergreen/Troutman, further down Troutman towards Bushwick Ave., something brewing on Troutman closer to Central. Completed Fedders on Jefferson/Central. (725k hah!) Something going up a few doors down from my place, etc.
Who’s gunna buy all this stuff??
Speaking of Bushwick, I took a walking tour of this area yesterday and the houses on Bushwick Ave. starting a few blocks past Myrtle are really really nice…..mansions,brownstones,nice rows of red brick….just spectacular!
Also, “free beer and gift bags?” What kind of beer? What was in the bags — really don’t think that’s going to change people’s minds. How about some prosecco at least, in keeping with Carroll Gardens’ Italian background…
Has the plan even been declared effective at Court St? The problem is the large number of stabilized tenants who aren’t going anywhere (nor should they, at these prices). If they were offered a nice insider price things might be different. Maybe eventually — pride goeth as they say.
