New Build on the Edge of Carroll Gardens
We noticed that there’s a new building going up on the corner of Court and Garnet with lovely views of the BQE. We couldn’t find any clues about it on the DOB website though. Anyone know what’s going on? GMAP P*Shark
believe it or not people, DUMBO is built right next to a couple of noisey highways too!!
Perhaps if they lose enough money on buildings like this developers (or, at least THIS developer) might stop building garbage like this.
New construction in lousy locations like this seem highly risky from a resale perspective, quite apart from the obvious quality of life issues. But as more inventory becomes available and prices continue to soften, buyers are getting wise. This could be a very tough sell.
Hey 11:02, It’s spelled “Bricolage” you know, rhymes with “decoupage”
And Mr. Brownstoner, perhaps there is no info on the DOB site because maybe they haven’t bothered to pull permits!
“what is it with terraces?! No one uses them except to store their bicycles!”
my wife and i always wondered about this. we don’t have a terrace and always thought it would be nice. but when i look around regardless of the neighborhood i rarely see anyone on them. most people seem to use them for storage. whats the deal?
Good point, Bob! How about instead of terraces they just make them on-ramps to the BQE? I haven’t seen that advertised in luxury condos before: “And with the convenience of your own personal on-ramp onto the BQE!!”
yikes! what an awful location…i live 2 blocks this part of the BQE. This is a particularly noisy strech of it too with the exit and all those trucks downshifting (think loud and lengthy fart)…also i think there’s a huge pothole or seam right there and
when a fully loaded truck goes over it BAM my whole house shakes.

Better in a location like this than as a tear-down in the middle of a row of brownstones. I can’t think of anything else positive to say about it though.
Its your good buddy Henry Radusky/Bricoledge Designs project.
Mixed commercial/residential….and top floor get outdoor terraces, I’m just so envious.
