200 Livingston
200 Livingston renderingWhen we wrote about the residential development project at 189 Schermerhorn back in February a couple of readers directed us towards a 2005 Archpaper feature that included a rendering of the proposed building. Now, though, we’ve come across another rendering that shows the Procida-backed building from the Livingston side; in fact, we gather from the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership website that the property is being marketed as 200 Livingston, not 189 Schermerhorn. As you can see from the photo, construction has moved into high gear. It’s also now being described now as having 280 units as opposed to 214.

  1. Perfect location. It’s not so much residential in the area. The pizzeria at the corner of Livington & Bond is good, other businesses can go. Need Bloomie’s instead of that crappy Macy’s.

  2. I also dislike it when buildings cantilever. However, there is a 210′ height limit here — if the street is less than 75′ wide, 185′ limit — so you go wider where you cannot go taller.

  3. Looks alright, but I HATE when buildings cantilever! This is why height limits are bad, bad, bad. There would have been nothing wrong with an additional 5 stories instead of that third-world looking cantilever.

What do you think Mr B?
