  1. there’s been issues with this site rather than scarano because like 3 years ago they ran into a stop work order (prior to this economy).

there were listings up for this building in 2006 when i was shopping for a new place.

if this gets finished and is priced OK, it’s a great location – N.7th between driggs and roebling. it manages to be central to everything (half block to the driggs’ entrance of the L train, G train, all prime burg, the park etc..), but it’s very quiet at the same time.

as this is around the corner from the restaurant, El Almacen, guess someone was scouting the area! really, check out the renovated building that El almacen is in. these buildings around here are all 100 years+ many with interior details still and can be brownstoner townhouses just as much as some place way out in the South slope that’s more expensive, further from Manhattan, and has bad schools too!

unlike the overcrowded “good” schools of brownstone brooklyn, district 14’s good schools have space and are getting better and better! PS31 just won a national award – it’s a magnet for the district, and has, get this – 6 kindergarten classes. there’s also top notch PS34.
PS 132 now has top ratings from inside schools and the DOE.
PS84 has changed dramatically. the younger grades are full of vibrant new families and the dual language program is flourishing. TECCS charter has space still cause it’s new (2nd year). Williamsburg Northside Elementary (private) also has space because it’s relatively new as well.

i simply do not understand the appeal of the south slope over WB or greenpoint which has similar housing stock and is more convenient and simply offers way more in terms of things like restaurants, shopping, art galleries, music venues, and SEE ATTACHED TO MY OTHER POSTS!
