At its monthly meeting on Monday night, the Community Board 6 Land Use Committee voted to support Clarett’s application to the Board of Standards and Appeals to proceed with its original development plans for 340 Court Street despite a change to the zoning code in the area. According to the blog Pardon Me For Asking, which has a long post on the topic, the impact of the zoning change from R6 to R6A and R6B would only have had minor implications for the scale of the project; in particular, the townhouses along Union Street (photo at right) had been designed to be 42 feet high and the new zoning creates a 40-foot limit. More interestingly, PMFA reports that Clarett’s Eric Deutsch said that the firm intends to proceed with the project “as soon as financing allows” and denied that it has any plans to flip the project to another developer.
