Artists Making Way for Condos in Clinton Hill?
We heard a rumor a couple of weeks ago that this 45,000-square-foot loft building at 13 Lexington Avenue, inhabited for years by artists, had recently been sold to a developer who was going to take it condo. We heard a rumor a couple of weeks ago that this 45,000-square-foot loft building at 13 Lexington Avenue, inhabited for years by artists, had recently been sold to a developer who was going to take it condo. I am a tenant in this building. It is not a building filled with artists, firstly. The tenants here are yuppy types, and yes, some artists.
The owner of this building is shopping it around to developers for a partnered development, but nothing will ever come of it as the owner is a very greedy man and will not accept reasonable offers. They film here quite often, not just ten times. Many tv shows and movies have been shot in this and other buildings on the block. It is a MAJOR pain in the ass sometimes, but on the flipside you get to see lots of interesting things. the address is NOT any of the addresses posted above. thanks!
Guys,
Pretty sure this is 13 Lexington and heard again this weekend that all but a couple of tenants are out.
iceberg: google maps
where is lexington avenue?
Yeah, they’ve been filming since last week. This is like the 10th thing filmed here and usually they’re okay but this one is a hassle. They took over all the available parking and act like they own the place. Nothing fun, like Chappelle.
But this is big time filming…they have a caterer inside AND outside!
Maybe they were referring to 25-27 Lexington Avenue, which is next door. It was for sale this past year. An investment partnership that I am familiar with looked at it for a potential condo conversion, but ended up getting outbid.
It’s actually 103 and 107 Lexington
i lived across the street ten years ago and this place was being built (converted?) when i moved to wmsbrg. it was a crazy block at the time. a couple years ago some realtor told me that the street is now full of BMWs and SUVs or something. hard for me to believe. i thought the owner of the bldng lived just down the street.
Guess our friend was wrong–or a contract has been signed but not closed…
