585 6th Avenue Gets Glassy
The new development at 585 6th Avenue in the South Slope was framed out when we took a look back in October. Now the 25-unit project has all its windows. Anyone know whether this will be condos or rentals? Development Watch: 585 6th Avenue Coming Along [Brownstoner] Development Watch: 585 6th Avenue [Brownstoner] Development Watch:…

By the way this EIFS can be pigmented in just about every color possible so this “OHR beige” is a choice by the arch/developer.
Rob I checked the chart and “OHR Beige” is not on the chart.

Condos, and yes, Old Hooker Revlon Beige (shiny, natch) will be the non-color of choice.
I was going through listings with my broker last night, and this came up as a condo.
cream colored stucco…
just rename it for what it really is. Old Hooker Revlon Beige.

Offering plan revisions seem to be online- haven’t read it:

The other sides are cream colored stucco- would expect the same for the front. Agree it would be cool to have funny colored styrofoam and stuccos houses popping up.
Gotta love all the extra glass on the north side of the building…just where you need it. NOT!
Gonna be some pretty cold winters and hot summers in this badboy.
Definately looks to be condoesque, although in this market, rentals may be on the table.
Rob, we already went through this on the 3rd & Bond facade. Yes, tyvek-like materials come in all sorts of bright colors that get covered over when the facade goes on. But I hear you. If we’re going to have a stucco infill invasion in Greenwood Heights, why not paint them some great colors. Beats crappy faux brick. Lots of new homes in Ireland are stucco exterior and they paint them nice, saturated colors. My guess, though, is this gets the crappy brick or stupid beige stucco.
It is very similar, rob. This one is a bit darher and more green though. It’s an attractive insulation color, though. I bet the starchitect was gay.
