The rough details of the Lazerian family project at Gold and Tillary in Downtown Brooklyn—somewhere between 377 and 500 apartments, depending on whether you believe the DOB filings or the NY Sun—haven’t been a secret for a while. The look of the building has, though. Until now. The 12-story design by Avinash Malhotra Architects feels similar in style and scale to Avalon Christie in Manhattan, doesn’t it? Note the Golden Arches at left. Big Mac, anyone? It may be a while before we see the real goods—things haven’t been exactly flying along on-site.

  1. 10;23…no point just wondering with all the developments being built, how do they guarantee they will be sold? Mcdonalds has supposedly been sold to a developer for condos to be built.

  2. The prices for 2bd/2bth in Concord Village were very reasonalbe when I was checking them out in the summer. Though, the building is butt ugly, is cut off from all the surrounding neighborhoods, and it has low a$$ ceilings (I guess they’re on par with other cheap buildings) in Brooklyn Heights, you know the ones with 7’8″ ceilings and paper thin windows.

This building is 10x better, build more please, or he*l, build rentals like Court Street Apartments (Court/Atlantic).

  3. I love it if a big developer would buy up Concord Village, raze it, and build something that is better looking. Ditto to the fugly towers in Brooklyn Heights across from the Court House. Though, I think these are under Michelle-Lama, not sure about Concord Village.

Regardless, raze all the fugly buildings.

  4. 11:19 – There’s a lot of construction on the Tillary St. on ramp to the BQE. They may be relocating it which would explain it’s absence in the sketch. Just an uneducated guess though.
