Great house for someone who had the money to renovate - someone smarter than me can calculate interest rates and reno costs and compare to the price other houses in the neighborhood are asking that are already move-in ready. I would open the porch back up - less interior space to heat and more room to enjoy the leafy street vibe with neighbors etc.
Estate Condition West Midwood House With Parking Asks $1.699 MillionThere is a house on Beverly between Argyle and Rugby that has ben transformed into a gaudy McMansion (its the orange colored one on the map of integrity). Best advertisement for doing the landmarking. Would hope that they still let the houses get funky paint colors like the orange and tourquoise one pictured. Finally, I would love to see the Greek revivals on Westminster and Cortelyou get restored - greek revivals with columns like that strike me as fairly unique in NYC.
Locals Call on Landmarks to Extend Proposed Flatbush Historic DistrictsHow about that sitz bath! I guess I would advertise it as a bathtub for a small dog or something. Curious about the the stained glass window in the bathroom as it looks more mission/craftsman or maybe art deco style and is not in keeping with the other stained glass windows (see pics of the window in the stairwell, above the shaving sink, and the fireplace room). Kitchen is really unique, not everyone's cup of tea, but a good chef could have a lot of fun there.
