As the Dumbo and Vinegar Hill communities continue their debate in regards to a contentious school rezoning, WNYC is holding a panel discussion on education, integration, gentrification and culture.
The first installment of WNYC’s new “Power Lines” series will analyze the segregation of New York City’s public schools through a lens of race, class and cultural flux.
Panelists will include New York Times Magazine reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones, Kids cast member Hamilton Harris, Fusion reporter Colier Meyerson, and RogerEbert.com editor-in-chief Matt Zoller Seitz.
The event — Power Lines: Race, Class, the City and Its Schools — will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, at the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at 44 Charlton Street in Manhattan. Tickets are $10 and available online.
