Condemnation Hearing
The Empire State Development Corporation will present its petition in New York State Supreme Court seeking the condemnation of private properties to make way for Bruce Ratner’s Atlantic Yards. The Brooklyn Flea
The Flea is located at the former bank at One Hanson for the rest of the winter. The clocktower Art Deco building at Flatbush Ave., across from the Target mall, will be the Flea’s new home every Saturday and Sunday through March, for 12 weekends only. The Flea features 100 vendors and a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday & Sunday, January 30 & 31. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free. 1 Hanson Place, Skylight One Hanson.

Gone Country for Coney
Come and enjoy a day of country and bluegrass at the Country for Coney benefit. Bands performing include: Animal Pharm, Central Valley Wildfire, Rob Hecht, Pinataland, Citigrass will be performing and afterwards there will be a dance performance by the Prospect Cowgirls.There will be a country BBQ, raffle prizes and after-concert Burlesque, as well. The Country Jamboree will benefit Save Coney Island, the volunteer, non-profit organization committed to restoring Coney Island as a world-class amusement destination for all New Yorkers and visitors. Life in a Blender
Life in a Blender, an unusual band, will be performing at the Brooklyn Academy of Music Cafe. They will be featuring songs from their upcoming album, Kill the Bottle. All are welcome to attend. Saturday, January 30. 10 p.m. Free. 30 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn Academy of Music Cafe.
Historic Trolley Tours
On the last Sunday of each month (starting January 2010) there will be a historic trolley tour at Green-Wood. The tours last approximately two hours and feature the beauty of Green-Wood’s grounds, the Cemetery’s history, its bird life, the most fascinating tales of its permanent residents, views of Manhattan’s skyline, The Green-Wood Historic Fund’s Civil War Project and its preservation program, and more. Sunday, January 31. 1 p.m. $15. Reservations recommended, but not required. Inside Main Entrance at 25th Street and 5th Avenue, Green-Wood Cemetery.
