30th Annual Winter Festival
This annual blow-out event will fill the school from top to bottom with three floors of adventures for kids to explore: Carnival bouncy rides, games and face painting, kid’s make-your-own craft section, photo taking and frame making, a book fair with Spanish readings, a Karate demonstration and for older kids a Guitar Hero competition. The local crafters will again sell their wares, along with fresh holiday plants. Savory food, beverages, baked goods, and cupcake decorating round out the day. Eighty percent of the profits support Horizons at Brooklyn Friends. Friday & Saturday, December 4 & 5. The 3rd Annual Brooklyn Film & Arts Festival
Curated by Aziz Rahman, the documentaries screening at the Brooklyn Film & Arts Festival will address the theme Brooklyn Back in The Day. The main films selected for the festival’s third year will reflect on the transformations, challenges and turmoil faced by Brooklyn in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Opening for Brave Brooklyn Art Auction
The Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn is hosting an art auction to raise money for North Brooklyn Parks. Featured artists include: Richard Serra, Fred Tomaselli, Monica Cook, Paul Campbell, Sean Hemmerle, Bradly Brown and about 30 more. Friday, December 4. 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Free. 30 Nassau Avenue.

The Will Shaw Fun and Funny Juggling Show
Audiences of all ages will be treated to astounding displays of juggling, hat tricks, music, balance tricks, sight gags, cowboy rope spinning, boomerangs, spinning tops, audience participation and offbeat but sophisticated clowning steeped in the traditions of the great comedians from the silent film era to the present. Recycling Swap
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure! Drop off your cleaned gently-used bedding, books, clothes, shoes, & toys donate $5 to check out the selection and take away as many riches as you can carry. “Eat Pie and Shop” Holiday Gift Fair and Pie Social
PS 29 will host the first annual Eat Pie and Shop Holiday Gift Fair and Pie Social. Proceeds from this family-friendly Holiday event will support the PTAs of the school and neighboring PS 8 in Brooklyn Heights. The Gift Fair will highlight local artisans, craftspeople and merchants, and a wide array of handmade, local and sustainable gift-giving choices. The Beatles Complete On Ukulele Festival
Festival organizer/record producer/ukuleleist Roger Greenawalt will perform all 185 original Beatles songs in one day on ukulele with over 60 guest singers, 80 guest musicians, and 16 Yoko Impersonators. This is going to be epic. Sunday, December 6. 12 p.m. $10. 61 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn Bowl.
