PM NYRB Classics 10th Anniversary Celebration
Publisher Edwin Frank joins a group of authors to celebrate ten years of this essential press. Jhumpa Lahiri will discuss short-story master Mavis Gallant; Matt Weiland ponders George Stewart’s quirky book of Americana, The Names of the Land; and L.J. Brooklyn Flea
The Brooklyn Flea takes place in Ft. Greene on Saturday and its historic Brooklyn Bridge location on Sunday. Both locations feature a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday, November 14. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, Lafayette Avenue between Clermont and Vanderbilt Avenues. Sunday, November 15. 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. In Dumbo, underneath the Brooklyn Bridge at the corner of Water and New Dock Street.

Yankee Fair
This daylong event, organized and staffed by volunteers from the Plymouth Church, combines a festive mix of children’s activities, home cooking and handcrafted gifts and decorations with a shopping bonanza of antiques, collectibles, vintage and designer clothing, prepared foods, books, toys and gently used children’s clothing. This year the proceeds go toward a program of major renovations and expansions to the Plymouth buildings that will ensure these historic structures remain in good shape. Columbia Street Greenway Clean-Up

5 Dutch Days
5 Dutch Days is a five day cultural event which takes place in New York City every November. It celebrates the continuous influence of Dutch arts and culture in New York City and brings together arts and cultural organizations from across the city. Programs include walking tours, lectures, concerts and contemporary art offerings. Sunday, November 15. Worship at 11 a.m. Dinner at 12:30 p.m. $25 (Advance tickets: $20. Park Slope Northwest
Join the Municipal Art Society (MAS) for the first of three tours (others to follow in 2010) looking at different areas of Park Slope and aspects of the neighborhood’s history. The first walk looks at Park Slope’s western edge and its relation to the Gowanus Canal. There will be a discussion about the history of the canal and its bridges, cross over for a brief peek at Carroll Gardens, and return to touch down in the Park Slope Historic District.
